You have started to see other sides of this guy, sides that really isn't what you expected. Now you need to show a piece of your feelings to be able to get something in return.

It became darker and darker outside, you and Envy hadn't said anything to each other for some hours. You really wanted to break this uncomfortable silence, but you didn't know what to say. Right now both of you had something in common... You were really bored! After Envy had looked out through the window for a couple of minutes he had walked over to the sofa and lied down with his hands under his head, you were still sitting at the kitchen table, staring at a spot in front of you. You looked at Envy that was lying on the sofa with his eyes closed, he looked so peaceful. You almost thought he was asleep but then he opened one eye to look at you, he must have felt that you were staring at him. You looked at each other for a long time; you tilted your head a bit and tried to give him a small smile to see how he responds. Envy's eyebrows raised a bit but then he frowned again and broke the eye contact, you wondered what that meant... Every time he'd looked at you he'd always ended up frowning and turn away. You signed and looked at your hands that rested on your knees, "maybe he will not let me get to know him." you thought and you became a little bit sad. You herd the door open and you looked up again, Envy had got up from the sofa and was now on his way out. You went back to staring at your hands, great... now you were going to be alone too. "What are you waiting for?" Envy sounded impatient. You looked at him in surprise "Do you want me to come with you?" You asked, it was very little but you could see that he was blushing. "Well, you look bored too and there is nothing to do here so we could at least get some air..."

You and Envy walked side by side, you two did not know where you were going but it didn't matter. It was nice, it didn't feel like you were kidnaped it felt more like being around a really quiet friend. But the silence soon started to bother you so you tried to start a conversation, "Envy... who are you working for?" You asked, you had been a bit curious about that. To tell from the look on his face you thought he was going to tell you that it was not you business. But then he replied, "Just an old man... you could call him my father." You looked at him. "Could call him...? Are you... adopted?" Envy stopped and just looked at you with big eyes, then to you surprise he burst out in laugh. Now it was your time to frown, what was so funny? When he finally got a hold of himself he changed, his dark face came back and he gave you an evil smile. "No I'm not adopted... I am created." He moved closer to you and you responded in backing away. "C-Created...? I... I don't understand." Your voice was really quiet. Envy stopped and raised his left hand to his chest; it sparked and changed to something that looked like claws... Envy's evil smile never left his face. You were paralyzed with fear; your eyes didn't want to believe in what they saw. His claws went through the flesh on his chest and dragged it a bit to the left, with his other hand he opened a hole, big enough so that you could see the little red stone that was inside his body.

"Is... Is that... a philosopher's stone?" your voice was shaking, you had read the story about the philosopher's stone and you were almost certain that this was one. You tried to remember everything you had read about it, you looked at Envy and saw how the wound healed right in front of your eyes. Now you were certain, that was the stone. "You are a successful human transmutation? A homunculus?" you tried to make your mind clear. "Oh? You were a clever one, you know about the philosopher's stone? I'm impressed. So what do you think of me now? Still not scared?" Envy let out an evil laugh and came closer to you. You backed until you got a tree against your back. This was not the laugh you liked, this was something else. But... still... even if you were afraid you could not forget what he had done for you for the last 24 hours, only by thinking about how he saved you made your heart pound faster. Envy was really close to you now and when he leaned towards you, you could feel his breath against your cheeks. "I'm Envy, one of the seven deadly sins. You should be happy that I have let you live for so long but don't think I'm the good guy... I'm a coldhearted monster."

"No!" The intensity in you voice made him shrink back. The smile had disappeared from his face and he raised his claw looking hand placed it against your throat. "A coldhearted monster does not help a lost person to find the right way, he does not offer a hungry person something to eat, he does not care to ask for the name of a person his going to kill and the largest difference between a monster and a human is that a monster do not save a girl whose life is in danger." While you talked your fear blew away with the wind, now you were calm and confident. You hadn't wanted to admit it but you had actually feelings for him, strong feelings and you could not stand that he called himself a monster when you knew that is was not true. Envy looked at you, at how you had reacted and for the first time he looked speechless. His hand dropped from your throat to his side and went back to normal, the darkness had disappeared. It became quiet; the only thing you could hear was the sound of the nature around you and the only thing you saw was each other. Yes... it was true. In such a short time, you had fallen in love with him. Envy frowned and looked confused, and then he signed in frustration. "Why...?" he mumbled and then he slammed his hands hard against the tree on each side of your head, you gasped in surprise. He looked down so you didn't see he's face. "Why... why do you act like that? I don't understand."

For a moment Envy looked so... vulnerable. It was really not like him. "Envy... Have you never experienced kindness?" He slowly looked up at you and saw your sad eyes, he immediately got irritated. "Don't you dare feel sorry for me" he said. You smiled, now he was his old self again and as usual he looked away from you. But then he surprised you, "No, I haven't..." He let out an unhappy laugh "Heh, I don't need it either... But it's something different with you..." Now he looked at you, straight in your ____ eyes. Your cheeks became warmer. What was he saying? "It's frustrating... even if I try to reject you, you still are kind to me and I can't resist to... like it." It sounded like he was talking more to himself then to you but you started to blush even more and your heart was pounding really hard. Envy signed, "You're a mystery to me."

Now it was really dark around you and it started to get windy. You hadn't noticed that the sun had gone down; the only thing you had focused on was Envy. The wind was cold on your bare arms and legs. It made you shiver, since your _____ summer dress wasn't very warm. "We should head back" Envy said, it looked like he hadn't noticed the darkness either. He stepped back from you and started to walk back to the cottage. You became disappointed, you had wanted to stay like that a little longer, but you felt now that you were really tired and it maybe was a good idea to go back. But wait... where did Envy go? You looked around, "Envy?" You called out his name in the dark. You heard an irritated voice replay "Gosh! You don't need to shout! I'm standing right here, you know." he was closer then you thought but you could not see him, it was too dark. "It's too dark. I can't see anything." You heard an inpatient sign, "Human eyes are so useless" he said. You snorted and put you hands on your hips "Useless?" You could hear the laugh you liked so much leave his lips and without a warning he came from behind and picked you up. Your ____ eyes became larger as you blushed again. "Yes, useless" He said with a smile. Envy walked through the forest with you in his arms and you rested your head against his chest. You didn't say anything to each other but you didn't need to.

A special sound caught your interest, you let out a small quiet gasp... Heartbeats... you heard his heartbeats. You closed your eyes and smiled as you listened to the sound.

"He is more human then he think..." you thought.
